Timelapse - Hong Kong : Life at Night

    by qikit | 08:15 PM

Here's a little timelapse photography montage I put together. I took the photos when I was in Hong Kong this March. So, enjoy this little marvel of mine combining photography and videography!

Time-lapse is a series of photographs put together in sequence and it would appear as the motion has been sped up when viewed. Like for instance a the growth of a plant.

    Hope you enjoyed it!

I Don't Want to Rest in Pieces like Final Destination

    by qikit | 10:46 PM

*cues pussycat dolls - when i grow up song*

~When I got shocked, this is how I look, AAAAH!~

    [gickr.com]_a128c17e-ecc8-9e94-052a-28b794ecb7d7

What’s so horrifying that I got shocked?

    Final Destination.

The movies where one of the guy/girl from the group can foresee the gruesome death of his/her friends.

My reaction after I watched Final Destination

    IMG_2890

    After watching Final Destination 2

When watching Final Destination 3 Trailer.

    The chain of shocks follows.

    Pre-shock

    Shock

    IMG_2893

After shock and being forced at “gruesome death-point” by Nuffnang to get the above pictures taken to get tickets to the Premiere Screening of the Horror Flick. Ok, the I lied about being forced by Nuffnang.

Taking the shocky expressions is just like recording a reaction video to 2 girls 1 cup

When the trailer mentioned 3D, I lagi Shock coz its not gonna be mind blowing but mind blasting! Most probably, after watching it I’ll say

it didnt blow my mind, it blasted my mind!!!

If you know who I quoted it from you'll think about it and maybe laugh.

Its freaking 3D for a horror flick! How cool is that. Its like your eyes now have another sensory organ. Okay... too much of crap. shall just end the post here and oh yeah, Nuffnang is giving out 1 pair of premiere tix to their Glitterati Bloggers!

Btw, check out my flared nostrils. They got shocked too! haha

    Video Recording Camera Differences

    by qikit | 08:38 AM

So what are the differences between recording video using a point and shoot(compact camera) and recording video with video cameras that have lens that can manual zoom and manual focus. Watch this youtube video that I have put together.

There could be some mismatch to the actual facts, but I hope you all get the point, if not, I'll revise it.

In the video the budget/independent clip was shot by a Canon IXUS 100is Compact Point and Shoot Camera while the cinematic clip was shot by "hacking" my Canon EOS 1000D that is incapable of recording video on its own.

I'm a Uni Student, so it seems

    by qikit | 11:56 PM

I'm now currenly enrolled and studying in a Twinning Programme in Taylors College PJ that twins with University of South Australia. I doing Bachelors of Multimedia Studies and will be flying off in 2 years to Adelaide to complete Semester 5 and 6 there.

Just a week, and made a couple of a big bunch of friends. They came in a "package" as the whole bunch was from foundation and they are really nice people. Though I don't talk much, I hope I do soon. Not much of a talker. Brain slow abit. Crazy and funny bunch.

However I couldn't say that I am liking all the subjects. Public Relations is plain boring, Computer, Communication and Society is interesting, Principles of Journalism is just okay (just 7 in the class as opposed to 80 in the other classes) and Communication : Rheotoric and Reasoning is interesting as well. I also took an extra subject which is not in my subject list which is Effective Communications that is basically performing arts and I know I will be loving the class a whole lot!

Lotsa work to do, so little time or maybe I just make my self busy. I really need to keep this place going and having this place sorted once again. Too cluttered just like my room, my lappie and my brain.

    -over and out-

    Aghast and still disbelief

    by qikit | 09:26 PM

The rules strictly said that no drugs, smoking, fire and sharp materials should be displayed and used in the play.

Two weeks ago in Victoria Institution, I witnessed 8 teams performed 20 minutes play that were written and portrayed by 15 secondary school students for each team. This was the State Level English Drama Competition.

The results was apallingly surprising. Clearly the judges have not seen a real drama before and definitely inexperienced, merely just English Language teachers.

The team who won the competition was not from the usual schools that are expected to win as they were always on par. The team's play portrayed the snorting of cocaine and smoking of cigarette which previously gets penalised and will not be in the "list" of winners. However, the judges this time made a big fool of themselves.

Lets see how they make it at the national round. I guarantee that they would make a darn stupid fool of them selves!

    Go SBS!

After a short session of Starbucks and pointless window shopping, we walked back to the hotel to get ready for the dinner that is held at Royal Hotel located at Newton Road.

Loads of laughter that no words could describe. IMG_8569 IMG_8570 IMG_8572
Time for those who came to Singapore by train to return the same way. Leaving those who came by car to sleep a little bit longer and to stroll Bugis Street and then head to the Head Quarters of our counterparts in Beach Road. Not much of a place except that its a bloated version of the Head Quarters we have here in KL. More space and organised as compared to ours.

This picture concludes my trip to Singapore. Its an experience that I will miss, as per all trips I went with my comrades.
